Latest Newspoll released in The Australian shows that 46 % of women surveyed (sample 1200, all States, city and country) were in favour of Australia becoming a republic; 39% were against and 15% were uncommitted. 43% of women surveyed had heard of or read new text for the preamble. 18% were in favour of it being added to the Constitution while 13% disapproved. 69% were uncommitted.
