A pro-republican statement signed by Diana Stainlay, President of the NSW Young Nationals and her NSW Young Liberal counterpart, aligning them with NSW Young Labor, has caused havoc. Melissa Roberts, President of ACT Young Liberals criticised her colleagues saying that they were completely out of step with the national Young Liberal movement and describing their stance as “immature”. Other Young Liberals described the action as weird, misguided and wrong.
