Britain’s largest selling tabloid, the Sun, has lashed out at the political influence of the Queen and, for the first time, called for reform of the monarchy. While professing huge respect and affection for Elizabeth II, the Sun said in an editorial that “the fact that she has any role at all in our democracy is, to be frank, an international embarrassment”.
