Susie Elelman, described as “a commentator” on The Today show (watched by many women) referred to polling done after the royal visit claiming to show 59 percent of respondents in favour of King Charles and Australia remaining a constitutional monarchy. She then claimed that a republic would usher in sharia law in Australia. This extraordinary statement, completely untrue, went unchallenged.
