ARM announces the results of the election for National Council members after the sudden resignations of the co-chairs in May (see previous posts). Of the ten spots available, there were six nominees elected: two women and four men. A young woman was elected as the National Youth Convenor; this position also sits on National Council. They will join the eight State and Territory Branch Convenors. At the time of the election, three of Branch Convenors were women and five were men so that made a total of six female and nine male representatives on National Council. A week later, after some reshuffling and the withdrawal of one of the elected women, the new co-chairs were announced as Esther Anatolitis from Victoria and Nathan Hansford (former ACT Branch Convenor). The final gender make-up of the Council is five women and ten men. The next election for National Council will be held in 2026.
