An event that is being run by a not-for-profit charity into which the Australian and NSW Governments are tipping at least $7m, and probably much more, seems to have no problem getting its gig off the ground at the Governor-General’s house, ie really his grandmother’s place, on prime Sydney waterfront. Shame about the driving rain to spoil the view. But it didn’t obscure the deep connections between the Governor-General – QEII’s onshore representative – the military past and present; the federal and NSW Governments and various people on the Board connected with his father’s charities.
