The sight of &#8216;heirs and spares&#8217; waving from the balcony at Buckingham Palace for the Queen&#8217;s Platinum Jubilee &#8211; with men dripping in gold braid alongside pencil-thin women in skirts, hats and gloves &#8211; is a reminder that his gathering of entitled, wealthy individuals is a fantasy in a modern world. The British monarchy is no longer a suitable model for our head of state and the basis of our system of government&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well said Christina!
