She links&nbsp;this&nbsp;idea to the Republic thus: &#8220;An Australian Republic would be our opportunity to create our own independent system of government that is a means of representation for&nbsp;all&nbsp;Australians, not just those privileged enough to work what is now a patriarchal system of&nbsp;whiteness.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She&nbsp;continues: &#8220;A Republic, together with Treaties for Indigenous self-determination, will be the critical turning point in creating a positive national identity.
